This book was a true story of sex. This book got right to the point about adults who enjoyed BDSM and sexy lovers together. It was not a story that u would have been wanting to read U was truly all sexy without a good story
So I didn't know how to rate this type of book, not my cup of tea
To be expected for under a buck, the story was short.
I USUALLY don't like short stories, and this was a rare exception in that I felt satisfied with character development.
Yet, still too short.
I was VERY disappointed to discover that 1/8 only had 1 book published.
This is an author that deserves a full-size book and full character development.
I look forward to further books in this series.
This series has some interesting potential. I love the concept of the knights from the Crusades being tempted by Ashira to become her incubi. The length of the book prohibits character development, though. I would like to know so much more about the warriors and the women they are with. All in all this was an interesting, steamy read that I finished within 20 minutes. ;) I'll definitely be continuing this series.
O.K. so this was a first for me. Men who are granted wealth, and immortality but of course there's a catch (which I won't share everything...buy the book and read). Book fast forwards to our time and these men open a bdsm club and things get really interesting. I already bought the second in the series. You have to know what the fate of each man is so I guess this author knew how to draw you in for the next read.
This one is hard to rate. Dark Mercy had lots of potential and the hero Richard was dark, mysterious and certainly interesting as a Dom and part owner of the new adult Mercy Club. But then I blinked and it was over before it really ever began.
Ricahrd has 8 other very facinating business associates who I am sure will probably be getting their own stories, but if they are as short as this one...well it would be a shame. I will have to reserve judgement on if I will be checking out any more in this series.
I'm not saying I WANTED it to be longer, I'm saying it SHOULD have been longer.
Okay. I really loved the set-up. It left me dying to see what the heck was going to happen to the poor guy. Ugh, what a horrific curse! Well, I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but it's a curse I would love my ex to have. ;)
The writing is very good, which as we all know, doesn't happen in most cheap erotica stories. There aren't loads of typos, misspellings, and punctuation issues. All looks good, right? We meet our heroine, get a run-down of her life story. I'm still not sure why we needed to know any of that, especially info about her sick friend that never seems to be important, but whatev. I'm still in it. We meet the hero! Wow. He's hot (surprise)! The tension is fantastic. Insert a tiny bit of plot (but not too much cuz this thing is SHORT). More great sexual tension. More really great writing. Oooh, the anticipation. And then...
LITTLE SPOILERS, but I'll try to keep it vague. )
Meh. It didn't do it for me. Sorry, but it fizzled out at the end. The sex felt rushed. And seriously, all her issues are solved in two paragraphs? The story had way too much promise for the end to be so abrupt and pat. It was disappointing. You know what I would love? I would love for this writer, who is obviously talented, to take this story down and build on what she started. Make this story and these characters live up to all the potential she gave them. IT WOULD BE SO HOT to make them suffer for a while longer, take their time, have a few encounters when he's testing his theory or have him spend more time doing what he claims they do at the club. Of course, I never get what I want, so I know it will never happen, but if you don't ask...
Yes it was hot, though more on the build-up than the delivery of goods. Worth reading? Yes. Could have been ten times hotter? Definitely. But overall, it was enjoyable.
I liked this book. I wish it had been a full-length novel. Then it would have been a really great book!
I liked the story line, I liked the characters, both the hero Richard and heroine Cassandra, and the minor characters. Had it been longer, Ms. Lyndon could have developed them further. I also liked no bad grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. That's a pet peeve of mine.
I would like to read the rest of this season. Every one of these men needs his own book, with different erotic experiences.
